| Disney Pictures 'John Carter of Mars' |
Written in 1912 by the man who would later give the world Tarzan, Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote one of science fictions most enduring adventures. The first book was entitled Princess of Mars and followed John Carter from the battle fields of the American Civil War to the planet of Mars, known to its inhabitants as Barsoom. Nine more books followed John Carter of Mars and now Disney pictures has finally brought him to the big screen, one hundred years after his birth, March 2012.
