There was a charm this movie had that I never found in the other films. I liked 2 and 3, but this one had something special.
Spielberg, together with Lucas's Industrial Light & Magic, changed the way movies were made again! This time, introducing the world to the wonders of computer generated images. Nearly 20 years later, the effects still hold. The two men who had redefined movie-making in the 70's and 80's, began the 1990s with a toe touch into digital animation. Their computer images made movie monsters more frighteningly real than ever before.
This film, along with Titanic, were the crowning achievement of spectacle cinema of the decade. CGI was here to stay.
