Gotham, Fox's ambitious new show that looks at Detective Comics pre-batman era characters will give us a weekly visit of Cat Woman, the Penguin, and Poison Ivy, among others. The pilot episode will deal with the murder of Bruce Wayne's parents, which will inspire him to become a future vigilante named Batman. With a vibe borrowed from Boardwalk Empire, Gothman hopes to rekindle the inner-city crime beat. Will fans warm-up to a comic-book show that does not, as-of-yet, appear to give us any of the costumes of iconic DC characters we've come to know? Only time will tell if old Gotham can live in the present.
